CIRQUE DU SOLEIL
MICHAEL JACKSON - THE IMMORTAL
Michael Jackson was still writing, singing, dancing, and rehearsing for a new tour when, tragically, he died on June 25, 2009. In 2011, the King of Pop comes back to life with Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour.
It should come as no surprise that this first grand tribute, officially sanctioned by the Jackson Estate, is being developed by Cirque du Soleil, the most dynamic live entertainment company in the world. Cirque has performed for nearly 100 million people worldwide. 9,000 Cirque tickets are sold in Las Vegas every single night.
Two of Cirque’s most recent productions featured the music and lives of the Beatles and Elvis. No wonder the Jackson Estate is collaborating with the Montreal-based juggernaut to bring Michael’s life and work to the stage. Featuring live music, dance and performance, the show will be directed by Jamie King, who has created tours for mega-stars like Madonna and Celine Dion, and has worked with the biggest names in showbiz including Mariah Carey, Elton John and Shakira.
Opening in Montreal in October 2011, the Immortal Tour will cross Canada (taking a memorable one-night side-trip to Detroit) before heading to Vegas and the USA, and onwards around the world. A truly historic entertainment event is coming to a stadium near you. Get your Bell Centre tickets (Montreal) and/or check the schedule for the full list of stops.
