The Cure Tickets
While the Cure haven’t released an album since 2008’s 4:13 Dream, the legendary British rockers remain the definitive act of the gothic rock genre. With their melodic bass lines, sorrowful vocals, and nihilistic lyrics, the Cure masterfully translated pain, anxiety, obsession, and loss into sonic waves, thereby gaining legions of like-minded followers and cementing themselves as one of the most revolutionary alternative bands of all time.

The lyrics were submerged in thoughtful melancholy. The musical tones ventured into a gloomy territory that had never been present before in mainstream music. The onstage personas were tormented to the point of incomprehensible madness.
Truly, this was the very essence of the sound of the Cure.
The Cure developed following the punk rock revolution and emergence of new wave that defined the United Kingdom in the early 70s. At the time, alternative bands failed to achieve mainstream and commercial prosperity, and were exiled to the obscurity of the underground music scene.
The Cure changed all of that.
With critically acclaimed and commercially successful albums such as 1982’s Pornography, 1985’s The Head on the Door, 1987’s Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, and 1989’s Disintegration, Robert Smith and Co. became pioneers of the gothic rock and alternative genres. With smash hits such as “Lovesong”, “Boys Don’t Cry”, “Killing an Arab”, “Just Like Heaven”, and “Friday I’m In Love”, the Cure showcased an impressive balance of relatable pessimism and pop sensibility. Later, the morose band increased its accessibility and appeal through the incorporation of more pop-oriented elements. The inclusion of the pop genre made the Cure’s signature sound absolutely indefinable. Not bound to gothic rock or pop, the Cure succeeded in establishing their own musical genre, thereby producing culturally significant music.
These days, the Cure remains a hugely inspirational force in the music industry. Now, you can join the Cure on a new 26-date North American tour.
